The Rat Trap AA Fuel Altered at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The recent appearance of the Rat Trap AA Fuel Altered at the Goodwood Festival of Speed preview was met with universal praise by the high press turn out, and driver Ron Hope put down three burnouts in front of the spectacular backdrop of Goodwood House.  Don Green, the creator of the original Rat Trap from the 1960's, and who has been involved with drag racing for more than 50 years, was also present to look after the Donovan motor - it was his first trip to the UK and Don was loving every part of it - except the weather of course!

Rat Trap was brought over as a teaser for the Festival of Speed in conjunction with USAutomotive and to illustrate the fact that three or possibly four more Fuel Altereds will be attending the Festival (again thanks to USAutomotive), which takes place over the weekend of June 25/27.  The three other cars will be Rich Guasco's Pure Hell, Leon Fitzgerald's Pure Heaven and the Hough Brothers Nanook.  A fifth car has not yet been confirmed, but would be either Winged Express or the Bradford Brothers Topolino Fuel Coupe.  At a special press dinner at Goodwood House, Rat Trap was fired up at 10.30 in the evening in front of the house, lighting up the night with nitro flames.
