Head of Sales / Ford Expert

Pete

Brought up attending motor races before even learning to walk, a deep passion for American cars runs in Pete’s blood. His grandfather owned several American cars, and although Pete never had the chance to meet him, the family legacy clearly left its mark.

Pete’s favorite car has always been a 1964/65 Ford Falcon. It was seeing one race at Silverstone in 1965, at just 8 years old, that ignited his lifelong love for the model. That day, Pete decided he would own a Falcon someday—and in 2003, his dream became a reality when his US purchase arrived in the UK. He owned it for 15 years before making what he now calls a major mistake by selling it.

Before the Falcon, Pete owned a 1957 Packard, a 1951 Buick, a 1991 Ford Mustang, and a 1960 Falcon rescued from a lock-up in Milton Keynes. His current pride and joy is a 2004 Mustang, which was shipped to the UK in 2017.

In his downtime, Pete enjoys watching motor racing, with NASCAR and IndyCar being his favorites. He also loves DIY projects, long walks, and weekends away in his motorhome.

Pete views his role at USAutomotive more as a hobby than a job. After 48 years in the American car industry, he still looks forward to coming to work each day.

Bob

Bob’s journey with American cars began in the early 1970s when, as a mechanic, he worked on his first American vehicle: a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 6 Cylinder. After replacing the Cam Belt and taking it for a drive, he was instantly captivated.

In 1981, during a trip to the USA to visit his cousin, Bob decided to buy his first American car. With his cousin’s help, he found a Pontiac main dealer in Portland, Oregon, and purchased a 4-year-old Firebird with 67,000 miles on it. Bob drove it from Washington State to the World Trade Center in New York to collect the shipping documents and delivered it to the docks.

This experience left him hooked, and the following year, he repeated the adventure. This time, he purchased a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top with a 348ci engine.

Subsequent vehicle purchases were made in the UK, and Bob’s collection included:

  • A 1968 Chevrolet C10 ex-USAF, which he enhanced with a Pontiac 350 engine and resprayed in blue.
  • A 1972 Dodge D100 ex-Military.
  • A 1966 Ford Mustang, which he stripped for a bare-metal respray to red.
  • A 1976 Ford Mustang II.
  • A 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback V8.
  • A 1968 Ford Mustang 390GT, which went through numerous color changes before Bob stripped and resprayed it.
  • A 1956 Ford Fairlane 292ci V8.

In addition to this impressive lineup, Bob built a 1932 Ford Roadster powered by a 325 Poly Hemi, which was eventually sold to a buyer in France.

Bob’s experience extends beyond personal projects; he was an MOT tester for over 18 years, during which time any American vehicle that came through the door was handed to him for inspection.

For the past 19+ years, Bob has been a vital part of USAutomotive, where he continues to share his expertise. During this time, he also acquired a 2007 Ford Mustang Premium GT Convertible, imported by USAutomotive.

Outside of work, Bob enjoys 1950s and 1960s Rock and Roll, boasting a substantial vinyl and CD collection. He has fond memories of simpler times spent at the Ace Cafe during his youth, reflected in his collection of classic Triumph and BSA motorcycles, which he keeps as cherished mementos.

At one point, Bob and his family cared for donkeys, horses, and four dogs, adding to his rich tapestry of life experiences.

Lynn

Lynn once described herself as the “tea lady,” but she’s so much more than that—though she’ll gladly make you a brew anytime! Her main role is in accounts, but she’s a true all-rounder, seamlessly stepping in to cover sales and even the warehouse when needed. Believe it or not, she’s also a certified forklift driver! Lynn’s versatility and willingness to help wherever she’s needed make her an invaluable part of the team.

In her spare time, Lynn lives life to the fullest, guided by two personal mottos: “Nothing is for best” and “When was the last time you did something for the first time?”

With over 27 years at USAutomotive, Lynn brings a wealth of experience and passion to the team. She owns a 1950 Ford Shoebox, imported from the USA in 2002, and still feels a thrill every time she drives it—even after 22 years. A motorsport enthusiast, she has even drag raced the ’50 and holds a special claim to fame: a record time at Bonneville, achieving 87.748 MPH on a 2000cc/SC-BG (Sidecar-Blown Gas).       (Read the Article)

Lynn has a love for country music, live concerts, and shows, as well as a keen eye for unique clothing—especially cowboy boots. (She jokes that if she buys any more, she’ll need a bigger boat!) Speaking of boats, she lives on a 53ft narrowboat and cruises the Grand Union Canal, which she describes as both beautiful and eventful.

Whether it’s motorsport, music, or a quiet moment on the water, Lynn embraces every opportunity to make the most of life’s adventures.

Jo

Jo’s interests outside of work include cooking, gardening, DIY projects, and taking long walks with her dog, Ralph. She also loves weekend adventures in the motorhome, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

A fan of motorsports, Jo enjoys watching NASCAR and IndyCar on TV and has been fortunate enough to attend several races in the USA. She also loves driving her Ford Mustang Convertible, a car that turns heads wherever it goes and never fails to bring a smile to both Jo and Ralphs face—it’s his favourite car too!

Jo finds working at USAutomotive both fun and rewarding. She’s part of a great team and enjoys the camaraderie with her colleagues, who collectively have nearly 150 years of experience with American cars. Whether sharing stories or solving challenges, the team’s expertise and humour make every day enjoyable.

Office Dog / Doorman

Danni

Danni is our beloved office dog and a cherished member of the team. She lives with Lynn, who she loyally assists by keeping a close watch on everyone in the office.

Whether it’s greeting colleagues with her wagging tail or keeping Lynn company during the day, Danni always brings joy to the workplace.

Between her important “duties,” she loves to take regular naps, often accompanied by her signature snores, which never fail to make us smile. Despite her vigilant nature, Danni has one weakness: she can easily be won over with treats. Her presence adds warmth and a sense of calm to the office, making her an irreplaceable part of our daily lives.
